welcome to part 2 of the varicose veins natural treatment episode. i'm doctor janine bowring a naturopathic doctor and i hope you enjoypart 1 all about varicose veins why we get themand what we can do naturally to treat them at home in this episode i'll share with you somesuper exercises and acupuncture points that you can do at home to treat yourveins and increase your leg circulation so now i'm gonna share some acupuncture points whichare really helpful if you have varicose or spider veins

these are called the spleen points and iwill demonstrate exactly where they are on the legs and you can just press theseyou don't need to do you know acupuncture with a needle you just pressthese points do this for about you know five to 10 minutes every day really helps to stimulate theenergy or the chi in that channel in the spleen channelgetting rid of dampness or edema swelling in the legs and getting that leg circulation going as well so if wetake a look at these points in first way the easiest way to mark the first pointis to find that ankle bone on the inside

so just put your leg up as i am and you put your hand down so that yourpinky finger lines up with your inside ankle bone and whereyour hand ends up is roughly the point on your legs, so if ilift my jeans up here you can see and you're gonna dig in their sort ofwith your thumb which tends to be your stronger finger and when you find that point this is calledspleen 6 when you find that point it actually it kinda grabs you can actuallyfeel that there's a bit of an ache in that area... now you know you've actually stimulate the chi and just

do little small circles in a clockwise manner on that point and again if you can dothis for five to ten minutes so you know about two minutes on each pointwould be ideal for your daily session to get thatenergy flowing through the spleen channel now the next point is just below theknee so if you mark where the creases in yourknee when your knee is bent even with your pants on you can seewhere this is again use your hand

to measure that point and woah! i canfeel it its right their my spleen must be blocked today and again just massage in small circular motion right on that point this is called spline 9 in this really helps to get thatcirculation going in that spleen channel helps with thosevaricose veins so you do this on both legs so even if one leg is worse than the otheri'd like you to do it on both legs and again about two minutes per point sonow i'll be sharing some fantastic

exercise that you can do while you'resitting even if you're sitting at work sitting at your desk this is so simple for you to do andnobody will even know that you're doing about this really important if you'resitting for long periods of time you get the blood flowing in the legs so first what i'd like to do is calledheel digs so basically you're just one foot at a time putting your heel and you can see i got my highheels on you can see that this is really easy todo even with your high heels ladies

just to get that blood flowing in those legs and this is fantastic and again do this as much as you canthroughout the day especially if you've been sitting for more than 20 minutes or soyou have to get that blood flowing this is important when you're on anairplane as well save may have heard of people having stir strokes and things onairplanes because that decreased circulation really importantto do this as you're sitting the other thing youcan do is go on your heels and your toes your heels and your toes

i repeat this about 20 times and do itthroughout the day so if you can do you know 20 repetitions of this three times a day during your you knowsix to eight hour workday absolutely fantastic forgetting thatblood flowing okay perfect so i hope you joining inwith me with this one and give me a thumbs up because you lovethis exercise on this video they also have some greatstanding exercises these are similar to the ones when you're sitting so if you prefer to do the standing allthe better and this is what you do you

so we'll do heel digs first so basically you're just putting yourheel on the floor and again you can see that i have myhigh heels on and it works fantastic so you canactually start to feel that blood flowing andyou're getting that circulation going in the leg and you can do it you knowif you have stability issues you can certainly hold on to something as you doing this the back of the chairbut this is a great way and you can do it at your own pace about 20 repetitions

of your heel digs now the next one is walking on your toes so o.k. of courseonly if you're stable on your toes as you're walking maybeshouldn't wear high heels for this one but i'm gonna show you anyways i'm goingto yank up my pants so you can see exactly it ispossible you may want to hold on to something sobasically walking on your toes and this helps to flex your gastrocnemius muscle your calf muscles getting and forcing that blood up
